i love josephine bonaparte
i went to my first sewing class today. there is a girl in the class that was in my high school classes and maybe junior high too but i don't really remember. yeah, she must have been in grade 9 with us. i thought she was mentally handicapped but i wasn't sure. she is kind of pretty except her eyes bulge out and her teeth are crooked. she talks to you even when you don't listen. that makes me sound like a bitch. but what i mean is for example, i was standing in line, waiting to register for the class and i was talking to her, but the line was moving so i was moving farther and farther away from her (she was sitting in a chair that was beside the line-up) but she continued to talk in the same volume so the farther i got away, the less i could hear but she kept talking. and then when we were in the class, she would just interupt the teacher and talk about the good deal she got on fabric at frenchy's. then another girl passed out business cards for this one fabric store and the owner was giving us 20% off and then the other girl that talks alot started passing out business cards for another fabric store that was giving 15% off. i took both cause whatever i'll take whatever i can get and maybe the store that is only giving 15% off has nicer fabric so whatever. but this other woman refused to take the card cause she already had a 20% off card and she kept saying 'well i probably won't even go to that store so i don't want the card' but the girl kept persisting and i just wanted turn around and say 'TAKE THE FUCKING CARD!!!' anyways

also in my sewing class, there was a wierd couple that want to learn how to sew together and they want to make figure skating dresses for their daughter and i just think they seemed like this wierd couple that were going to divorce or something but then they went to therapy and the therapist told them they had to experience new things together and now they're are magically in love again and have to talk loudly about how much they are compatible and how it's great that they get to do new things together, like learn how to sew little dresses for their kids. also, for the second part of the class, everyone was gathered around the teachers desk watching what she was doing and listening to her, but the couple sat at their sewing machine playing with the different stitch settings and making sewing noise when the teacher was talking and i thought it was rude. oh and another thing... before class started, the father called the daughter (it must have been her first time being home alone ever) and he was like HI! It's DAAAAAD!!!! Your mother just wanted me to call you to remind you- because we forgot to mention this before we left- we just wanted to let you know that you should not turn on the propane stove. I just don't like it when people talk loud enough that you know they're talking that loud to make sure everyone hears. Like it seemed that the reason he made the call was not to let the kid know that she shouldn't turn on the stove, but more like to let everyone around him know that he is a good parent. Or when people laugh super loud on purpose cause they want to make sure that everyone around hears them. i don't know what the point is. i know sometimes you just have to laugh that loud cause there is no possible way to controle it, but i don't know... sometimes you can just tell that people are faking it or somehing.
oh i am re-reading a series of books on Josephine bonaparte who was napoleons wife. her name was Rose but when they married, he insisted on calling her josephine. he also made his brothers and sister change their names from italian names to more french names. anyways, i love the books and they're by sandra gulland and they're really good.
